Coloring Page Decorative Plates

Showcase vibrant coloring pages in a unique way—turning them into decoupage decorative plates! You can display or hang the decorative plates on the wall as DIY wall art.

Create It Yourself

Supplies Needed

Gather all the supplies needed to bring your craft ideas to life! From paints and markers to glue and scissors, our crafts section has everything to spark creativity and make every project truly special.

Steps

  • Step 1

    Choose your favorite coloring page and fill in line art with colored pencils. Set aside.

  • Step 2

    Turn a clear plate upside down. Using the plate for size reference, cut your coloring page into a unique design.

  • Step 3

    To make glue mixture, combine equal parts glue and water in jar. Shake well until mixture is fully combined.

  • Step 4

    Using a paint brush, add layer of glue mixture onto the colored-in side of the coloring page.

  • Step 5

    Place the page face down onto the bottom of the plate, smoothing with your hands.

  • Step 6

    Add a coat of glue mixture to the back of the coloring page. Dry 1–2 hours.

  • Step 7

    Add a second coat of glue mixture to the back of the coloring page. Dry 1–2 hours.

  • Step 8

    Make as many plates as you’d like, then hang as part of a plate wall or use as a centerpiece!

  • You can also complete this project using one of our free coloring pages.
  • Don’t forget to save any leftover glue mixture for future decoupage art projects.
  • If you need to trace the outline of your coloring page design before you cut it out, use a Crayola No. 2 Pencil.
