Steps

  • Step 1

Cut a piece of construction paper into a rectangle approximately 2 ½ x 6 inches (6 x 15 cm) with Crayola Scissors. For younger children, an adult can complete this step ahead of time.

  • Step 2

Use Crayola Color Sticks to draw a design on both sides of the rectangle. Draw heavily to build a thick layer of color.

  • Step 3

Cover your work area with recycled newspaper. Paint over the Color Stick design with black or dark Crayola Watercolor Paint. Pat dry with a paper towel and lightly remove the paint from the Color Stick surface. Allow to air-dry.

  • Step 4

Punch a hole at one end of the rectangle with a hole punch.

  • Step 5

Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 8 inches (20 cm) with scissors.

  • Step 6

Fold the ribbon in half and thread both ends through the hole at the same time. Bring both ends of the ribbon through the looped end and pull firmly.
