    • As a manufacturer of children's products, safety is our top priority at Crayola. Although our arts and crafts products are nontoxic, we do not recommend using them to make eyeliner, lipstick, or other makeup, and strongly discourage using them this way. Crayola art products were never intended to be used on the skin or face in this manner.

Makeup goes through specific and rigorous testing since it is intended to be used on the skinBecause they were never meant to be used as makeup, our colored pencils, crayons, markers, paint, and all art products have not been tested in the same way a makeup product is and should not be used as a cosmetic. Crayola art materials are not designed, tested, or approved for this purpose.

    • Our experts recommend the following tips for best results.

      • Secure the adjustable paper holders (purple straps) to the outer pins to keep your design sheets in place.
        • Using one of the Sprinkle Art Shaker Activity Packs? Secure your paper to the inner pins.
      • A little goes a long way! Squeeze glue only on the gray lines where you want color to go.
      • Once you apply glue, don’t wait too long to start shaking! You want the glue to capture as many sprinkles as possible.
      • After unused sprinkles are in the bottle, lift the bottle out diagonally for easy removal.
      • Allow your creation to completely dry before showing it off.
      • To help eliminate static electricity, spray Windex on a paper towel and wipe the inside and bottom of the unit. Be sure the unit is completely dry before adding paper. Repeat as needed.

      Looking for Refills?

      • Sprinkle Art Shaker activity packs are just the thing to keep the fun going. They include adhesive paper (no glue needed) and sprinkles. Check out your local retail stores.
      • Need more glue? Learn more about Crayola School Glue or Crayola Color Glue.
      • Ran out of design sheets? Use any paper that fits the unit such as magazine pages, printer paper and coloring pages!

    • We do not recommend the use of traditional Crayola art products for intentional direct skin contact. Products designed for face and skin painting require specific testing and approval for this purpose.

However, we think you will love the Crayola Face & Body Crayons! These non-toxic crayons allow you to color right on your skin. They clean easily off the skin with soap and water. Check for them at a major retail store near you.

    • We love new and exciting ways to use Crayola products! Eggs that have been decorated with our products are not recommended for consumption, since art materials are not food-grade.

      For Best Results:

      • Protect your clothing and work surface. Paint play can be messy!
      • Wet canvases will also need a protected, flat surface for drying.
      • Slow and steady when pouring your paint.
      • Let your canvas dry for at least 5 minutes before removing it from the tray.
      • Use the basic pour technique for a unique outcome each time.
      • Use the advanced pour techniques with strainer for amazing patterns.
      • Try it with neon, metallic or glitter paints too!

      Pro Tips:

      • Use the tray handles to tilt and turn the canvas in any direction.
      • When the picture is complete, use the handles & tray to carry wet canvas to your drying area.
      • Use 3 to 4 colors for the most interesting results; colors will mix and blend to create unexpected new shades.
      • Rinse the beaker before adding a new color.

Make sure you have these items before starting your project (not included in your set):

      • Water
      • Paper Cups
      • ½ Tablespoon
      • Paper Towels
      • Painters Tape
      • String

      Refills:

      • Need more canvases to keep the fun going? We recommend purchasing thin, 6x6 canvases (that aren't specifically intended for use with acrylic paint) at your local craft store or online at Amazon.

Cleanup! Always do the following before storing your set:

      • Rinse paint off of the bowl, adapters, tray, strainer, handles, breaker, and pipette.
      • Re-cap the paint bottles securely.
      • Do not pour any used paint back into the original container.
