  • FUN FINGER PAINT TECHNIQUES

Waves, Wiggles, and Prints: Make strokes, waves, wiggles, finger and thumb prints, and other marks with different parts of the hand and arm.

Symmetrical Designs: Paint on one half of a piece of paper then fold it closed and smooth down with hands. Unfold and there will be a mirror image of the design on the other side.

Texture With Tools: Use combs, stiff paint brushes, sponges, sticks, dry fir branches, and cotton swabs on the finger-painted surface.

Etching: Scratch away designs in the wet paint with your fingertips.

Dot Paintings: Make paintings completely out of dots. Use different colors next to each other so that they mix visually.

Animals: You can create animals from finger paint. Paint the body of a turkey or peacock. Then press your entire finger into the finger paint and make ""feathers"" around the turkey's or peacock's body.

FAQ

  • Have questions about your Washable Paint Pour Art Set? We have the answers!

    For Best Results:

    • Protect your clothing and work surface. Paint play can be messy!
    • Wet canvases will also need a protected, flat surface for drying.
    • Slow and steady when pouring your paint.
    • Let your canvas dry for at least 5 minutes before removing it from the tray.
    • Use the basic pour technique for a unique outcome each time.
    • Use the advanced pour techniques with strainer for amazing patterns.
    • Try it with neon, metallic or glitter paints too!

    Pro Tips:

    • Use the tray handles to tilt and turn the canvas in any direction.
    • When the picture is complete, use the handles & tray to carry wet canvas to your drying area.
    • Use 3 to 4 colors for the most interesting results; colors will mix and blend to create unexpected new shades.
    • Rinse the beaker before adding a new color.

Make sure you have these items before starting your project (not included in your set):

    • Water
    • Paper Cups
    • ½ Tablespoon
    • Paper Towels
    • Painters Tape
    • String

    Refills:

    • Need more canvases to keep the fun going? We recommend purchasing thin, 6x6 canvases (that aren't specifically intended for use with acrylic paint) at your local craft store or online at Amazon.

Cleanup! Always do the following before storing your set:

    • Rinse paint off of the bowl, adapters, tray, strainer, handles, breaker, and pipette.
    • Re-cap the paint bottles securely.
    • Do not pour any used paint back into the original container.

    Pro Tips for Washable Paint:

    • For the perfect mixture, add equal parts Crayola Washable Paint and dish soap.
    • Add a pinch of flour to make the paint thicker.
    • Don't forget to protect the area under your window by laying down an old T-shirt.
    • Painting can be done on the inside or the outside of your window.
    • Because soap is used in the paint, your designs will wipe off windows with a wet paper towel. You can follow up with window cleaner for extra shine.

Q: Can I use Crayola paints on pumpkins?
A: Yes! Crayola Acrylic Paints, Crayola Quick-Dry Paint Sticks, and Crayola Washable Project paints are perfect for creating art on both real and fake pumpkins.

Q: Do you offer any pumpkin painting kits?
A: Absolutely! We have several kits available, including:

    • No Carve Pumpkin Decorating Kit with Paint Sticks
    • Galaxy Paint Stick Pumpkin Decorating Kit
    • Acrylic Pumpkin Painting Set, Classic Colors

Q: Are there any tips for painting pumpkins?
A: Yes, here are a few tips:

    • Water-based products work best on porous surfaces.
    • Water-based products may run or wash off when exposed to moisture, so it’s best to test the paint on your pumpkin first.
    • Allow a little extra drying time for the paint to adhere properly.
    • We recommend displaying your painted pumpkins indoors to protect them from the elements.

Q: Can I eat pumpkins that have been decorated with Crayola products?
A: No, pumpkins decorated with our products are not meant for consumption as our art materials are not food-grade.

Q: Where can I find DIY pumpkin-themed crafts?

  • Have questions about your Color Wonder Magic Light Brush? We have the answers!

    For Best Results:

    • Always protect your work surface!

    • If your set has a paint pot strip, it must be snapped into the base until it clicks for the Magic Light Brush to operate

    • Turn the power switch to the "on" position. – The unit is "on" when the switch is under the l. The O indicates "off".

    • If your set has a paint pot strip, check to ensure the brush tip is tightened. To activate the light brush, hold the brush tip over a single paint pot. Watch the bristles turn the color of the paint inside. Dip the bristles into the gel paints and start painting on the Color Wonder Paper (a thin layer of paint works best). The brush tip will stay illuminated for approximately 10 seconds while it goes from paint to paper.

    • If your set has paint pads, the handle will light up and cycle through all the colors. When that is done, press the bristles in the middle of the paint pad for a few seconds. The handle will temporarily light up the color of the paint. Brush the bristles against the paint pad several times. An invisible layer of paint will stick to the bristles. Brush onto Color Wonder Paper and watch the colors magically appear!

    • Between each color change, wipe the bristles with a dry paper towel.

    • When creative time is done, be sure to close the paint pot strip covers to prevent the paint from drying out.

    • If your set has paint pads, the cover should be placed on to protect the paint pads. Since the paint pads will not dry out, the cover does not need to be airtight and replacing the paint pads is not necessary. The paint pads are securely sealed in the unit during the manufacturing process and not removable, so we do not recommend attempting to remove them.

    Battery Savers:

    • To help preserve battery life, the Magic Light Brush will automatically turn off after 5 minutes if unused.
    • To reactivate, push power switch to "off" and then back "on". Turn the power switch off and then on.

  • Decorating sculptures made with Crayola® Air-Dry Clay is fun and easy!

    • Paint: Thoroughly dry pieces may be painted with tempera, acrylic, or watercolor paint
    • Markers: Non-Permanent & Washable Markers may not provide optimal coverage if you are coloring a large area of clay since the clay tends to clog the marker nib. Permanent pigment-based markers work well for writing words on the clay.
    • Glitter Glue can be used to decorate dry artwork.
Other product suggestions: pigment-based stamping pads and metallic powder pigment embellishments.
